So, it's definitely no secret that I've been a little MIA with my Instagram and blog and Etsy lately. It's not that I'm giving up on my crochet business or have lost some kind of passion for it, it's just that I took a break to take care of myself for awhile. As a lot of you know, I struggle with mental illness and since December I've just been in a really tough headspace.
One of the things that's come with my depressive episode this time of year has been a lack of creativity. I love writing patterns. I love inspiring other people to create what I do. And if I'm being honest, I'm not even sure why I got out of the groove of it. I think the last few patterns I made were so pretty and unique that I've just put too much pressure on myself to come up with another fantastic idea. But, I put it on my list of goals for 2020 to write at least 10 new crochet patterns, and goddamn I'm determined to do it.
And with that, I'm excited to announce that as soon as I wrap up a few large projects I'm working on, I will be beginning to write a new pattern! I can't say I'm really out of my "crocheter's block" per say, but I am determined to push through it and get back into my groove. I've got a couple big items that are almost ready to be listed on my Etsy, I'm ready to start writing a new pattern, and even more important than that I'm finally back in a headspace to have the motivation to push through this creative lull.
